NEWS AND NOTES

·        Ordination: My ordination date for my deaconate is May 26, 2007.  Mark your calanders.

·        November: This has been a busy month and a lot has gone on.  Hopefully, I can tell you all of it.

·        Long Lost Friend: On November 26, I received an unexpected e-mail from a friend of mine from college 7 years ago.  What a pleasant surprise and a blessing that my friend would happen to come across my blog.

·        Visit to St. Mary’s: On November 26, I got a chance to visit St. Mary’s Church in Edwardsville for their youth Mass and gathering afterwards.  It is always great to visit the different parishes of our dioceses and see what is unique about each of them.

·        Movie Day: On Saturday November 25, I watched Transporter 2, Inside Man, Firewall (good action movies), and Million Dollar Baby, which was good until the trainer killed the paralyzed boxer.  She was still talking, but it is a movie.  It is hard to understand why people can’t see how a life is still worth living even if they are paralyzed.

·        Poker Game: On November 24, I played in a large Texas Hold’em tournament with 17 other guys.  This game proved to me that poker has a lot to do with luck.  I cannot say that I made any big mistakes.  When I had big hands, the pot was small unlike the others who might have been lucky that way.  Oh well it was fun anyway for friends to get together and spend a day together.
